That's why we tend to take multiple rather than single readings before making pronouncements. But of course, your strep infection with as fever of 103 was highly significant.

Keith Souterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15206349930107528691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1409887812566625284.post-55995013921925756052015-06-25T15:53:07.008-05:002015-06-25T15:53:07.008-05:00Wonderful as usual, Doc. And my normal temp is usually 96.8 or 97, not 98. So I do have a fever at 99 or more. Once had strep at 103, whoa!! couldn't think straight.

Love these medicinal posts! It used to be regarded as a joke, but it is one of the most important drugs that we have. Like most of our effective drugs it also has considerable side effects and can be extremely dangerous for many people. The chief Boatswains mate supervised the installation of rat guards on all the docking ropes. I remember him walking around with a broom stick to insure no bubonic plague rats came aboard. If anyone reported feeling ill, they were given an APC (all purpose capsule). Not sure but I believe it was aspirin. That was 50 years ago. Some of the same precautions are still taken even today. Thankfully the findings of pioneer doctors have led to modern medicines and vaccinations.
Another great post Sir.
