I couldn't agree more with you statement about the importance of western comics and the genre; from the spin-offs of the films and tv shows, to the originals - going back to the beautiful Dell Four Color Zane Grey adaptations - just some fine, and fun stuff. I have a number of favorites - Doug Wildey's RIO is at the top, Joe Kubert's FIREHAIR, SCALPHUNTER, and also Dell's series, JUDGE COLT, with those great covers by George Wilson. Bravo, for tossing a light in a new direction so folks can discover these great westerns.Courtney Joynernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1409887812566625284.post-9277813468627567912013-05-29T04:45:09.513-05:002013-05-29T04:45:09.513-05:00Ditto what Cheryl said. I read mostly Little Lulu and Archie, but I'd sneak my friend's older brother's comic books (we called them funny books whether they were funny or not) and read Superman, Green Lantern, and The Rawhide Kid. I'll be heading over to your blog next! Started college and something had to give. Of those I did read I had to admit Spiderman was a favorite. Perhaps due to the age thing when I started reading.

Truly enjoy these interviews. Have some catching up to do. I didn't get to read a lot of comic books growing up because my mom had very definite ideas about "boy" toys and "girl" toys (and books!)So when I DID manage to get a comic book it was usually "something suitable" for girls. LOL Anyhow, this is like a whole new world for me! I'm so enjoying being introduced to these comic icons that you are so familiar with, and Tony Isabella is no exception. Thanks for a great post and a great series!
CherylCheryl Piersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18116526340220274282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1409887812566625284.post-72927689283451936072013-05-28T09:55:02.752-05:002013-05-28T09:55:02.752-05:00Excellent interview.
