They seem to come easier after that first.

Interestingly, my first editor, terrific editor in fact, told me that almost all writers stop after the first sale. That seems to get it out of their system; they've had their fun and quit after one sale. The editors don't really think they have a pro until about the third sale. Then they know they have someone for the future.
Frank RoderusAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1409887812566625284.post-611557258993315002010-08-30T07:56:21.059-05:002010-08-30T07:56:21.059-05:00That manuscript in the bottom drawer, you know. Wrote that first one in 1979. It was published in 2005. I still can't make a living as a novelist, but I've made it as a writer since 1976. I just wasn't tough enough or quick enough to do it in the fiction business.ChuckTyrellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02609200010767178944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1409887812566625284.post-91495923934195599682010-08-29T10:18:02.671-05:002010-08-29T10:18:02.671-05:00Great advice, Frank.
