BLIND FURY with Rutger Hauer and BLINDMAN with Tony Anthony were more or less lifted from the Zatoichi swordplay series.Fred Blosserhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01804660980763120303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1409887812566625284.post-82616612967688081012020-04-20T16:12:37.986-05:002020-04-20T16:12:37.986-05:00Fun article, Kaye. It's worth noting that THE ...Fun article, Kaye. It's worth noting that THE SEVEN SAMURAI into MAG 7 is actually a circular process as SAMURAI director Akira Kurosawa was a huge fan of JOHN FORD's westerns. As for other movies with the same plot: off the top of my head, film noir HIGH SIERRA turned into western COLORADO TERRITORY, another film noir HOUSE OF STRANGERS was re-worked as western BROKEN LANCE... Some movies have literary origins too. Shakespeare has been regularly plundered, from ROMEO & JULIET turning into WEST SIDE STORY, MACBETH intO THRONE OF BLOOD (Kurosawa again) and even KING LEAR into the TV Western movie KING OF TEXAS.Andrew McBridehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09856402767418202444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1409887812566625284.post-71681530032486369342020-04-20T16:09:17.218-05:002020-04-20T16:09:17.218-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Andrew McBridehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09856402767418202444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1409887812566625284.post-16622462337163027192020-04-20T16:01:23.170-05:002020-04-20T16:01:23.170-05:00Ohh, The Magnificent 7!
