Thank you! I needed a good laugh. I especially related to 'herding cats'. Doris
ReplyDeleteThat one is "somewhat' of an oldie, but a goodie. Years ago, I read about cats being transported via wagon trail across the West to the gold fields of California and to Sacramento and San Francisco to help with the rat/mouse infestations. I wish I knew/remembered where I read that.
DeleteGood grief *smacking forehead* "wagon train" not wagon trail
DeleteOMG!!!! THE CAT HERDER ONE!!!! I love them all, but I think that MIGHT be my favorite! LOL Thanks for these, Kaye. I am just loving being able to laugh at something on this dreary "'winter storm's a'comin' " day! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love the cat herding one, too, but I also enjoy the Words Can Hurt Geico commercials. He's so serious about being a lone, lonely, loner. haha I live about 300 miles northwest of you as the crow flies. The snow hit us around 4 a.m. and the temps have steadily fallen. Days like these remind me how much I wish I had a fireplace.
DeleteGreat choices, Kaye!
ReplyDeleteThe cat herder ad came out when I was working for EDS - we decided it was pretty accurate. ;)
Tracy, Oh wow. That's a great anecdote for you to have about the cat herding commercial. It is such a great commercial. It's funny and serious and so relatable.
DeleteThanks for the laughs. They're always welcome.
ReplyDeleteDennis, Yes they are always welcome. ;-)
DeleteI love it when the piano player switches his sheet music to play "brawling" songs. And of course, the cat one is hilarious. In "By The Great Horn Spoon!" made into Disney's "Bullwhip Griffith," they save the day by selling all the cats that multiplied on ship on the trip over. But I can't recall the actual story of bringing cats west.
ReplyDeleteVicky, I'd forgotten that part of the cats-to-the-west story that cats also traveled by ship. Don't you know for as long as it took to travel by land or sea, that there were a "plethora" of cats. Oh my gosh. haha
DeleteVery funny, Kaye! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMark, Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteHa ha. After 3 weeks of smoking, I dropped my cigarette in my used Corvair, and my seat started smoking. I pulled off LA Freeway to put out fire in a burned out gas station. I jumped out and put out the fire, only to find my self surrounded by some men with brown bags in their hands. I explained about the fire and gave them my brand new carton of Menthol cigarettes. We laughed and they waved me goodbye. I waved goodbye to my three week habit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great five minutes! Still can't stop laughing.
ROFL
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh!
