William M. "Bill" Tilghman had one of the most illustrious careers of any Old West lawman, serving as sheriff, town marshal, and deputy United States marshal in some of the toughest places west of the Mississippi. But he faced perhaps his greatest and most dangerous challenge when he rode alone into the wild Oklahoma Territory settlement of Burnt Creek on the trail of a gang of rustlers and outlaws with some unexpected allies . . .

Center Point recently acquired the large print rights and the first hardback of Western Fictioneers' West of the Big River: The Lawman is now available. The Avenging Angel by Michael Newton, The Artist by Jackson Lowry, and The Ranger by James J. Griffin are already up for pre-order and more will follow. This would be a great series for your local library to pick up.
Thanks for the info. Always been a fan of James Reasoner.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice set of books! These would be a great addition to a PERSONAL library of those who love westerns--hardbacks, too! Love that! Congratulations to all of these authors!
ReplyDeleteAn especially great gift for anyone whose eyesight isn't what it used to be.
DeleteYou'll be buying them, of course, right? LOL
DeleteJames Reasoner deserves more recognition. This is a good way to go. I hope the series sells well.
ReplyDelete1st printing is usually 1000-1500 books, most of which are pre-sold and shipped to libraries which have standing accounts with Center Point.
DeleteI was the one who made this possible, when Center Point and I were choosing which of my books to publish in Large Print this year. I suggested the West of the Big River series. Tammy at Center Point loved the idea. Livia then did all the contract and related legal stufff. I'm glad I was able to help my fellow authors.
ReplyDeleteThe person who came up with the whole concept of this series was Kit Prate. Without her there never would have been a West of the Big River Series. James' The Lawman was dedicated to her.
ReplyDeleteThanks be to Kit!
DeleteHave UK libraries been made aware of this series. With Black Horse having stopped publishing (due to the closure of libraries for covid reasons), there may now be an opportunity for this series as libraries here in the UK open up again. Most have a western section. (And I'd love to write one if there are slots open).
